Rakesh is a very dear friend. This shoot has a back story. Since we are in the same social circle, almost every weekend we end up hanging out together. So for the past one year, every weekend after being a few drinks down our topic of conversation would end up being, "let's shoot together". Hence the song Daaru desi. It's the bonding over daaru shaaru that has finally made this shoot happen so smoothly. Rakesh is a very positive person in life. My idea of this project was to break that image and portray this man on the reverse, a negative shade. So we took him outdoor and had him grow a stuble to have a rugged look. The offset rundown mahal we shot at was super apt. The truly kamina look and feel is what I hoped to bring out. He put on a sherwani which balanced the raw location and the rugged look out really well. We should totally do this more often Rakesh. Let's start discussing from next weekend again.. haha..
